Songs Of Hope & Restoration – Part 4

Stop dwelling on the past. Don’t remember these former things.
I am doing something brand new, something unheard of. Even now it sprouts and  grows and matures. Don’t you perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and open up flowing stream in the desert.”
    (Isaiah 43:19)

“He offers a resting place for me in his luxurious love. His tracks takes me to an oasis of peace, the quiet brook of bliss”. (Ps.23: 2)

My heart was deeply troubled and broken again when I read the story of Ahmaud, the young black man who was shot by a father and son while jogging!! My heart goes our to the mother who lost a son and a husband by one act of hatred against humanity. Their lives have been disrupted and altered beyond measure!

This story is too familiar to me and it reminds me of my own journey and process to come to a place of  hope and restoration. Covid 19 is a global pandemic that threatens our health, racism is a global pandemic that does violence against our humanity! How do we fight a pandemic? Not by silence or “not protective measures”.  As the Body of Jesus, we have a message that both confronts the truth and offers hope.

As we navigate this journey and visit the places within our hearts and minds that we cannot fathom, we draw our comfort from a God who SEES.!!
My hope, freedom and restoration come from a God who heals, restores and invites us into a new story!! That my friends, is a long daily intentional journey of surrender, choice and running to the Father’s heart. God indeed offers a resting place for us in His luxurious love!! I challenge all of us to keep our hearts free from indifference (opposite of love),  hatred and bitterness. It it the truth that can start the journey of our freedom and restoration.

1. Find moments of stillness today and listen to your heart.
2. Invite Jesus into those places and “name it and tame it” tell him your truth.
3. Receive His peace and rest
4. Let us repent of our indifference and the one action.
5. By faith hope and believe God for The New He is promising.

Prayer: Our world needs you! Altar our lives and break down internal and external systems that dishonour you and our humanity. Heal our racism and let us not be silent!  Unite us as your body! We invite you to further disrupt us in Jesus name!!
